Publishing Policy
1. Content Policy:
a. Content Quality: It is strictly prohibited to publish any material that is unrelated or cannot be connected in any way to the Yemeni American community. Content must be of high quality and relevant to the page's goals and values, such as:
- News and events concerning the Yemeni community.
- Success stories of Yemeni expatriates in America.
- Tips and guidance for living, studying, and working in America.
b. Language: Use clear and respectful language, avoiding obscene or offensive language.
c. Source: Ensure the reliability and accuracy of the provided information, citing sources when quoting.
d. Designations: Job titles and roles must be granted to employees, and it becomes necessary to include the job title when publishing.
e. Deletion: Only the page founders and the executive director have the right to delete content, or with their permission. In case they are unreachable and there is an urgent need for deletion, approval from at least three employees is required. Regarding comments, the responsible person must delete offensive responses.
f. Ban: No employee has the right to exceed their job title or duties without permission from one of the founders or the executive director (documented via WhatsApp at least).
g. Prohibitions: It is strictly prohibited under any circumstances to violate religious, ethical, or customary boundaries, use hate speech, violence, racism, or regionalism. Any comments addressing these issues must be deleted (according to the deletion procedures outlined), and the management has the right to impose appropriate penalties on any employee who violates this. Additionally, it is prohibited to use the page for personal interests or as a means to settle personal scores or act with favoritism.
2. Publishing Schedule:
a. Frequency: Regularly publish new content, for example, three times a week (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday).
b. Timing: Ensure a minimum period of half an hour and a maximum of one hour between posts unless there is an urgent need for immediate publishing. This does not apply to the page founders and the executive director. The timing does not apply to news and humanitarian requests where time is of the essence. It is also preferable to set specific times for publishing regular programs and segments to ensure reaching the largest possible number of followers.
3. Interaction with Audience:
a. Responding to Comments: Respond promptly to followers' comments and questions within 24 hours of posting.
b. Responding to Messages: Only the communication and response officer, the executive director, or the page founders have the right to respond to incoming messages.
c. Encouraging Participation: Ask questions, organize contests, and conduct polls to increase engagement.
d. Handling Criticism: Handle criticism constructively and professionally, avoiding negative arguments.
4. Use of Multimedia:
a. Photos and Videos: Use high-quality photos and videos, avoiding low-quality content.
b. Copyrights: It is strictly prohibited to use any content that is protected by copyright without proper authorization. Ensure permission is obtained to use any copyrighted material and give credit to the sources when quoting.
5. Advertising Policy:
a. Advertisement Type: Advertisements must be relevant to the page's goals and values, and related to the interests of the community and its members, such as job advertisements, community events like weddings and condolences, or other expatriate services like stores or apartments for sale or rent.
b. Transparency: Clearly inform followers when publishing paid content or advertisements.
c. Responsibility: Advertising requests should be directed to the executive director, who can assign one or more employees to handle all advertising steps, including publishing and collection.
6. Disciplinary Procedures:
a. Violating Content: Immediately remove any content that violates the policies, with a notification to the responsible supervisor.
b. Penalties: Establish clear penalties for managers who violate policies, such as a warning first, then suspension of privileges if the violation is repeated.
7. Updates and Reviews:
a. Periodic Review: Review and update policies every six months to ensure their relevance and alignment with changes.
b. Suggestions: Encourage managers and followers to provide suggestions to improve policies.
